Are you tired of weekly sermons that sound like self-help messages that do NOTHING to equip God’s army to confront the evil that is all around us?  As our culture burns to the ground and our freedom disintegrates, weak Christian leaders continue to preach feel-good messages that are powerless against the evil.

In his book Do Not Leave Quietly, Mario Murillo explains how God is raising up an army of ordinary people whose voices can change the trajectory of America.

Section One:  What Is at Stake

Murillo offers a scathing critique of those who are allowing our freedoms and national morality to be destroyed:

  • Pastors who are silent (Murillo calls them “traitors”)

  • Leftist politicians who have given themselves over to evil

  • Biblically illiterate Christians who have embraced what God hates

  • Spirit-filled believers who whip people into an emotional frenzy

Murillo points out the many reasons the American Church should be fueled by righteous indignation that will mobilize it to act.  To date, the church has been silent, offering platitudes like “it’s all in God’s hands,” but Isaiah 59:15-16 tells us that God is looking for people who will stand in the gap against national evil, not just through prayer, but by speaking out!

Murillo describes how progressivism has injected communism into our government, starting fires everywhere to usher in chaos and cancelling anyone who speaks out against it to encourage compliance; however, God has us living in this very hour to defeat the evil of our time.

Esther’s story is recounted with fresh insight.  Pastors who are ignoring the imminent threat claim they must preach the Gospel and not get involved in politics, but Murillo points out how true evangelists know if freedom dies, so does the opportunity to share the Word.

God is drawing a core group and equipping them to find their voices which will cancel the works of Satan.  Murillo explains how the pandemic allowed elitists to use fear to control the populace, but that God sits in heaven and laughs.  God has a plan, but His plans require our participation.

Murillo devotes an entire chapter that addresses weak pastors, and he says this, “It is wrong to keep politics out of the pulpit for the simple reason that it is no longer about politics—it is about evil.”  He outlines what will happen if pastors remain silent on the hot topics and even says if they refuse to address them, they are in covenant with Leftists by default and also with Satan.

Murillo calls out “woke Christians,” and says, “being a woke Christian is as impossible as being a godly atheist.”  He lists all the things woke “Christians” believe that are contrary to the Word of God.

Section one of the book ends with the story of Paul in Acts 16, and Murillo correlates key points of the account to what we are facing today.  There is hope—this can all be reversed if we act quickly and do not leave quietly.

Section Two:  What It Will Take

Murillo assures readers that they are enough to turn the tide.  When evil arises, God looks for deliverers, and if you have a burden for America, God will use your voice to win the war.  God is separating warriors to Himself.  This is our Red Sea moment.

God is raising up a new kind of Christian to meet the threat, and very few will be in the pulpit.  They will be ordinary people from various walks of life, and they will usher in a new era.  Murillo says, “This is not a time for soothing lambs but for igniting lions.”

Two things must happen:  we must realize we’re in a war and stop giving therapeutic messages from the pulpit, and we must receive the right spiritual training.  We must then use our voices to complete our assignment.

Section Three:  Firepower

A Christian’s firepower is described in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5.  We must use it to stop the Democrats’ evil agenda for tyranny.

We prefer to hear words of comfort and hope, but the key to defeating the evil of our time is to fight.  Murillo explains how to do this, and we must become Christians who do not “flinch in the face of adversity.”

Murillo points out that the loudest voices in American are evil and depraved.  It follows, then, that God-given voices are needed to save America.  When you speak, God will overcome your fears and shyness and give you a boldness to be fearless and commanding.  You will be able to neutralize the mob with TRUTH.

It’s imperative to study the Word because when you are in a position to deliver a speech, prepared or unprepared, the Holy Spirit will bring back what you’ve read to tear down the lies and disempower the enemy.

Finally, Murillo says this must be a populist movement.  Our “leaders” will not relinquish power and control, so we must go directly to the people because everyday people from all spheres of influence are the ones who can bring about amazing change.

The Book Nerd Weighs In

If you’re a Christian like me who is alarmed that America is becoming increasingly unrecognizable, Do Not Leave Quietly is one of the best books you can read at this present moment to fire you up for the battlefield.

It’s easy to wring our hands, voice our concerns among like-minded people, and hope God does something, but those postures are ineffective in ushering in the major changes that are necessary to right the ship.

If we are quiet, there is no hope.  Evil will abound, and America won’t survive.

This book is the kick in the pants every believer needs to engage them in the war.  We are no longer fighting between Left and Right, Democrat and Republican—we are at war with darkness.  It’s a battle of good versus evil, and God is looking for His people to arise!

Mario Murillo
Mario Murillo rose from poverty in the Mission District of San Francisco. After being revolutionized by Christ, he felt a call to the riot-torn University of California at Berkeley. He was rejected until a desperate prayer season resulted in supernatural power. It began with preaching that was different than students had heard before. Then the students began to report healings in the name of Jesus. A 4-day crusade in San Jose, California, lasting 6 months with a total of over 250,000 people, birthed an international ministry that is reaching millions!
